Working on this list #. Val Johnson and I are making a BOM (block of the month) pattern and the original wall quilt name was "Flowers & Flutters".
1/ To start my changing I have decided I would rather not have a 13" square so I printed the pattern with a 75% reduction.
2/ I was going to follow Val's suggestion on Block 2. The designer called for a sunflower format using 3 layers of material to create the actual look of a tiered flower with butterfly floating on the top. Val changed her block to 1 tier of flowers, while seeing 3 beautifully complimentary batik colours together, I changed my mind and stayed with the original outline....3 tiers of petals it is for me this time.
3/ I am renaming mine FLUTTERBY. Thanks to Sue Rice and myself, when we were talking about this applique quilt the name Flutterby just evolved. I can't remember if Sue said it first, or I did, but Flutterby it is now called.
So when I am able to add photos of the changes, I will do so.....perhaps along the way, or when I get the 9 blocks finished....maybe even a photo of the quilt flimsy...that is the quilt top before it is actually quilted.....
